Why this blog?
After years of deep involvement in building brands, marketing and scaling businesses I have paused to explore what I want for my next working role. I am committed to have my next career be one in which I can use my skills toward “making a difference” with a particular interest in actively being part of the solution of one of the many yet unsolved life-long issues such as: overuse of limited resources, aging population, chronic health care issues, education, etc. Two particular areas of interest that have risen to the surface are “aging in place” initiatives and universal design– along with the renewable energy market. As our population (baby boomers and their parents,) continues to age, I would like to become an active participant in the development of solutions, addressing some of the key issues such as: home retrofitting, greater ease of home health care, the need for intentional living allowing one to age in their own home…or facilitating the creation of communities where elders can live that are both environmentally and socially sustainable. From the renewable energy perspective there is great need for more focus on the latest building techniques and current innovations, so that we really can create a healthier and more sustainable world.
